Welcome to Green Meadows Intermediate Elementary School!

In my fifth year as principal and sixth year as an administrator at Green, I am excited about the growth I have seen in our students, staff, and school community. Green Meadows staff is committed to providing a safe, student-centered learning environment that supports the success of each child today and in the future.  We also know that collaboration with our parents and school community is an important piece in ensuring that we are effectively educating our students.  It takes 100% - Everyone, Every Way, Every Day to make this happen!  Let’s have a great 2017-2018 school year.  We  are family, and we are 100% Green!!!

At Green Meadows, we continue see growth every day in both our students and staff!  Our third grade students recently took IREAD3, a standardized test taken by all 3rd graders in Indiana.  This year's results showed an increase in our overall proficiency from last year along with increases in all subgroups.  All grade level's are currently taking ISTEP+, and we are anxious to see our improvements.  Along with the high-quality instruction our staff delivers on a daily basis, we continuously look to improve our practice.  We have implemented Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) this year, which has helped us deeply analyze our student data and provide each individual student with the appropriate supports.  Several staff members have attended in-district and out-of-district professional development that is brought back to the school and shared among others.  It is a great time to be a part of Green Meadows and the Community Schools of Frankfort!  It is a wonderful place to be!

Monday, February 27, through Friday, March 10, Green Meadows students will be taking ISTEP+ Part 1 (Applied Skills).  ISTEP+ assesses student mastery of the Indiana College and Career Readiness Standards in both literacy and math.  Part 1 will be paper/pencil.  ISTEP+ Part 2 (Multiple Choice & Technology-enhanced) is Monday, April 17, through Friday, May 5, and will be taken on the computer.  3rd Grade Only: All 3rd grade students will be taking IREAD3 Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17.  The purpose of IREAD3 is to measure foundational reading skills and standards through grade 3.  It is very important that your child has a full night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast each morning and is at school on time each day.  If your child has any medical appointments scheduled during the school day next week, please consider moving them outside of school hours.  If you have any questions regarding ISTEP+ or IREAD3, contact your child's teacher or the Green Meadows office.

At Green Meadows, we believe that children are presented the best opportunity to reach their full potential when there is strong, transparent communication between school and home.  A couple forms of home-school communication come through parent/teacher conferences each October and report cards four times a year.  The purpose of these communications are for teachers/school to provide detailed feedback about your child's academic progress and have discussion about any other important information to ensure your child is successful in and out of school.  The school also provides communication to parents in such ways as classroom & grade-level newsletters, Title I parent nights, our school webpage (, and other special events and resources.  If there is ever a time you have questions about your child's educational experience at Green Meadows or would like to volunteer, please contact your child's classroom teacher or the Green Meadows office.  Thanks for the continued partnership to ensure the success of your child!

HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION & SUPPORTS FOR ALL STUDENTS - October 2016                                                  The end of September marks the end of the Fall Benchmark Assessment window.  The students have taken beginning of the year assessments in reading, writing, and math.  These assessments give teachers valuable information about each child that will allow the teachers to provide high-quality instruction and supports that are best for the class and each individual child.  If you have any questions on assessments your child has taken or instruction in the classroom, please contact your child's classroom teacher.  It takes a strong connection between home and school to ensure your child is offered the best education possible.  Remember...100% - Everyone, Every Way, Every Day.
